Suzanne Cheek joined Duncan Commercial Real Estate in February 2019. She has been active in commercial real estate since 1987 and has most recently been with Horizon Commercial Realty.
Cheek is experienced in both buyer and seller representation and has generated more than $100-million in land sales and acquisition, primarily out-lot, big box retail, commercial, residential and multi-family.
She was named to Louisville Business First’s 2018 “20 People to Know in Real Estate” list. The list recognizes those who work behind the scenes to close big commercial deals and those developers who have greatly impacted the Louisville landscape.
Cheek graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1980 with a BS. She started her career in retail management with a national big-box chain and specialty-store chain and wanted a career change. Her first real estate job was with the developer of the StoneyBrook Shopping Center as a leasing agent. She viewed the retail management job as a great transition to real estate and was able to use her background as a retailer to relate to clients as she prospected and leased the shopping center.
Cheek’s job description, in her own words: “I help companies find land to meet their expansion needs in the Louisville and surrounding markets and I assist landowners in monetizing their land holdings. I specialize in location intelligence and in finding and securing on and off market sites to meet client’s growth plans. I have been active in commercial real estate in Louisville and surrounding counties since 1987. My focus is land acquisition and sales across the spectrum: multi-family, retail, commercial and residential.”
Cheek is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Kentucky Commercial Real Estate Alliance and Commercial Real Estate Women.
Kristie joined Duncan Commercial Real Estate in 2023. Kristie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina-Asheville. She has over 20 years of experience as an administrative professional, working in the telecommunications, architectural and commercial real estate industries. Over 17 of those years were spent Architectural Investments, who offered architectural, commercial real estate and property management services. She will be using that experience as she steps into Property Management. Kristie has started the steps to get her Commercial Real Estate license.
Patti is a Louisville native and a seasoned agent with over 30 years of real estate experience. After graduating from Sullivan College in 1985, she began her real estate sales career in 1986 with Semonin Realtors, having had past experience investing in numerous income properties of her own. In 1987, she began appraising real estate with J. Michael Jones & Associates. Her appraising experience included single family dwellings, multi-family dwellings, small commercial/industrial properties, vacant land, special purpose, utility easements, and highway condemnation projects. She is a Certified Appraiser and a Realtor, licensed in Kentucky and a past member of the International Right of Way Association. Current affiliations include the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors, Kentucky Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women).
In 1989, Patti was instrumental in starting a new company from the ground up, with her late husband. This auto parts company was later sold to her son and brother-in-law.
In April 2001, Patti went into full-time real estate sales with Opia Properties, located in Prospect. Her sales were not limited to single family properties. Her past sales include single family, multi-family, vacant land, small commercial, leased properties, office space, and multi-use properties. With the knowledge she has gained from her 30+ years of appraising and selling real estate, Patti is a truly diversified agent.
As a volunteer, Patti devotes time to Southeast Christian Church, Lynn Reese Ministries and Hope Collabrative.
Alan has over thirty years’ experience in commercial real estate sales and leasing, regional site selection involving new market analysis, site identification and transaction completion for national retail chains in twelve states including Office Depot and Everything’s a Dollar, investment acquisitions and dispositions for National City Bank, the development and renovation of several retail centers in addition to tenant representation for numerous retail chains and restaurants.
Alan has degrees in Law and Finance from the University of Louisville and is a member of the National Board of Realtors, Kentucky Board of Realtors, Greater Louisville Association of Realtors, CCIM Institute and ICSC.

Martin D. Hoehler, CCIM, joined Duncan Commercial Real Estate in March 2021. He has been licensed for 50 years and has been active in land development for residential, commercial and industrial projects. He has worked for local and regional companies including: NTS, as VP Commercial Division, Walter Wagner Jr Co Realtor, as Director of Sales, and Studio Plus Hotels, as Regional Development Manager for a seven (7) state territory. While at those organizations he has had responsibility for all planning and zoning requirements as well as all utility approvals for land projects. He served on the Louisville Metro MSD Board of Director from 2002-2011 and chaired the budget committee. His most recent activities have been in working with financial advisors to assist families with large holdings in real estate to position their land holdings for current and future generations and to secure entitlements that create and preserve value to accomplish their short- and long-term goals.
Ray operated independently for over twenty years, building, remodeling and purchasing residential real estate as well as owning a construction company. Ray joined Duncan CRE in 2010 successfully marketing both commercial and residential properties.
He is a member of Kentucky Real Estate Exchange, Kentuckiana Real Estate Investors Association, the Louisville Apartment Association, Greater Louisville Association of Realtors and Louisville Builders Association.
Brenda Williams joined Duncan Commercial Real Estate in 2019. She has experience in the commercial real estate industry, having worked for NAI Isaac in Lexington for more than 4 years prior to joining Duncan Commercial Real Estate. Her extensive background in customer services as well as commercial sales and leasing made her the perfect addition to our team. Brenda responsibilities include property management, accounting, marketing and office management.
Nichole joined the Duncan Commercial Real Estate team in November 2023. Nichole has over six years’ experience in digital content creation as a social media and marketing coordinator. She is dedicated to increasing brand recognition and improving customer engagement at Duncan, Nichole manages all our online listings, as well as our monthly newsletter and working with our social media.
